RPD (Rapid Pipeline Design)

Latest version RPD 2.0.0b1 : 18/06/2003

RPD is a GUI front end for the Visualization Toolkit (VTK) - it allows the creation of complex visualization pipelines by dragging and dropping connections between VTK classes.

RPD is currently in beta stage and can be downloaded for free trial

Features

RPD features a sophisticated RenderWindow control which allows easy switching between 3D and 2D views.
2D view supports image display as well as display of 3D objects in parallel projection. Images may be zoomed or panned by simple mouse selection.
2D view features automatically scaling xy axes.
Displays may be copied to clipboard at user specified resolution.
Sequences of images may be captured as an AVI animation.
Access to most VTK classes.
Pipelines can be collapsed into a single control which can then be treated as a single 'black box'  - all internal parameters can still be adjusted if desired. (work in progress)

In 2D mode, 2D axes auto scale whilst the user zooms or pans

In 3D mode, Interaction modes are Trackball, Joystick or Flight

RPD is currently in beta testing phase - please feel free to download it and experiment with it. Please check this page again as it is likely that changes and improvements will be placed here frequently.

Some parts of RPD are not quite finished, however the program is usable and Skipping Mouse is interested in receiving feedback from users to see what features would be most useful in future releases.

Please report any bugs and send requests for improvements or new features to rpd@skippingmouse.co.uk.
